Foodie Fridays: Kimono Ken

Image taken from Kimono Ken
Craving for Jap food, anyone? My sister and I were! In the midst of last minute Christmas shopping, we managed to have a quick dinner at Kimono Ken. With its cozy interiors and delicious Japanese dishes, Kimono Ken always feels like home. Kimono Ken promises "Enticing Japanese. For Less." No wonder we always come back for more.

I was tasked to order since my sister was still at the boutique. The first thing I ordered was California Maki. Three words: To Die For. I could taste the Mango in it. They served it with wasabi and soy sauce.

Next on the menu was Tuna Sashimi. I have always enjoyed Kimono Ken's Tuna Sashimi because of its freshness. I am very picky with Sashimi. I always have an allergic reaction when it is not served fresh.

It was so cold inside Kimono Ken that I just had to order soup to keep me warm. Their Miso Soup never fails me. Its a traditional Japanese soup that has stock called dashi and mixed into the miso paste. I could taste the wakame seaweed and tofu in it.

I also ordered Beef Curry for our favorite Yaya in the whole wide world! She told me that she enjoyed her dish. The serving was really big. She even wanted to give a generous serving of rice to me before she devoured her dish. I was on a diet and told her politely that I didn't want to. Hahaha. :)

My sister loved her Shoyu Ramen. It's broth with roasted pork and seasoned boiled egg. She always loves it. Ramen is her comfort food.

I was not able to take pictures of the delicious bacon asparagus. Two thumbs up for that dish too. We enjoyed our quick dinner at Kimono Ken before dashing to finish our last minute shopping. Try Kimono Ken for your Jap food craving. Delicious Japanese food and very affordable. Who knows I might bump into you in one of their branches. :)

Have a happy Foodie Friday everyone!

  2. Haha. No pictures while eating. I looked so tired and irate after 9 hours of walking. The yaya didn't want to have her picture taken. Ate was busy at the boutique nearby and I just called her when the food arrived. I am craving for it again. Oh no. I am on a diet kasi now. haha :D

  3. Mmmm, these pictures have made me SO hungry! I'm practically drooling. My significant other is Japanese and so we cook A LOT of chicken katsu in our house hahaha :). And just like your sister, ramen is also my comfort food! Sometimes I like to boil it down so the noodles soak up the broth and become extra creamy and full.

Happy New Year Wawan! (I'm Amy by the way; I don't want to display my name to everyone, hence the nickname.) :o)
